curasan AG to co-operate with Kensey Nash Corporation, USA

Distribution of the resorbable membrane EPI-GUIDE® in Europe and the Middle East.

Kleinostheim, 17. September 2001 - curasan AG, specialist for regenerative bio-medicine and one of the top companies for marketing in this segment has entered into a co-operation with Kensey Nash Corporation, Exton, Pennsylvania, a company quoted on the Nasdaq. The agreement awards curasan the rights for distributing the CE-certified, resorbable Epi-Guide® membrane in Europe and the Middle East.

Epi-Guide® is a resorbable membrane, developed for the guided bone and tissue regeneration in dentistry. It comprises three different layers which, for one, absorb fluid from the defect and on the other hand encourage cellular attachment and proliferation within the membrane. The structure acts as a soft tissue barrier for a minimum of 14 weeks, before resorbing over time, thus making a second surgical invasion for removal obsolete.

" Epi-Guide®, a highly successful product in the US, optimally complements our line of membranes and allows us to offer the most adequate solution for different indications", comments Hans-Dieter Roessler, CEO of curasan AG, the German-American partnership. Curasan now offers the most extensive product range in the field of controlled tissue regeneration.
"Curasan has a well-established distribution structure throughout Europe and the Middle East", says Joe Kaufmann, CEO of Kensey Nash Corporation, about the strategic cooperation. "We believe the company's product offerings will make a highly complimentary sale for our Epi-Guide® product. We are looking forward to a successful relationship."
