curasan continues to grow despite weak economy
Revenue growth and lower costs
Kleinostheim, August 5, 2002 - According to preliminary figures, curasan AG (WKN: 549453), specialists in regenerative medicine, have succeeded in emulating their performance of Q1/2002 in the first half of 2002, as planned. Revenues increased by 20% to EUR7.16 million (previous year: EUR5.95m). The accumulated loss stands at EUR1.31 million (previous year: EUR1.31m). Since March 2002, the Company has been able to reduce costs by 20%. Calculated on the basis of full-time staff, the Group employed 114 (previous year: 108) people in the period under review.
Despite difficult market conditions, growth for the first half of the fiscal year developed in line with expectations.
curasan AG is confident that key projects will be concluded in the coming months. In view of the continued positive progression of business, the Management Board has reconfirmed its forecast given at the beginning of the year, which predicts substantially improved revenues and earnings for 2002 relative to the previous year.
