curasan AG receives European license for bone regeneration material with optimised handling features

Kleinostheim, 22.08.2011 – curasan AG, listed in the General Standard of the German Stock Exchange (ISIN: DE 000 549 453 8), has received the European approval for Cerasorb® foam for two different product versions.

The new synthetic bone regeneration material consists of a combination of Cerasorb with collagen. Its open porous structure permits rapid and deep ingrowth of the bone cells and, thereby, a stable bone remodeling of the implant. The material supports the growth of the patient’s own bone and is absorbed in the course of the bone building process.

Depending on the indication, the user can choose between an elastic or malleable product variant.

„By combining our well-proven synthetic ceramic material with the biological features of collagen, we offer new application forms for easier handling during surgery in addition to our conventional granules and block forms”, comments Hans Dieter Rössler, CEO of curasan AG.

Until other products of the composite line are ready for sale, curasan AG will take over the marketing of Cerasorb® Foam directly, beginning in the course of the current year.
