Osgide®
The Osgide® membrane is a biodegradable barrier membran to be used in Guided Tissue Regeneration (GTR) and Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR).
For the treatment of periodontal bone defects and bone augmentation the resorbable Osgide® membrane can be used to cover and protect the bone substitute material in order to support bone regeneration.
Osgide® is a highly purified membrane with no cracking or adhere properties, produced from porcine collagen using controlled and standardized manufacturing processes. It´s composed of a network of porcine collagen fibers intermingled with porcine elastin fibers which prevents the migration of bone graft material and features mechanical strength.
The membrane is designed to protect the bone defect space in order to establish an environment favourable for bone regeneration by preventing the migration of undesired cells from the surrounding soft tissue and allowing the ingrowth of osteogenic cells.

Essential – The reliable barrier function!
With the resorbable Osgide® membrane a second surgical procedure to remove the membrane is not needed. With degradable membranes their stability compared to their resorption is of high importance. Numerous publications show, that with non-cross-linked collagen membranes the barrier function is guaranteed only for a short period also varying a lot. With the development of Osgide® high value was set in the reproducible higher stability of the membrane.
Because of the slowed biodegradation of Osgide® there is no early interruption of the barrier function of the membrane .
