Cerasorb® block forms
Cerasorb® block forms were developed to meet the specific requirements in orthopaedics and traumatology.
The regularly aligned, parallel macropores of the Cerasorb® block forms with diameters of 1.000 to 1.400 µm offer the ideal environment for biofunctional bone growth.
The dimensions of these macropores allow for both uninhibited vascularization and the formation of mature, load-bearing bone structures. The penetration of the implant by interlinked functional bone structures occurs quite rapidly.
As a result, reconstruction of the natural load bearing capacity is obtained even before the block form is completely resorbed.
The high total porosity (interconnecting micro and macro porosity) of 40 to 65 % created by a defined structure/composition results in the high mechanical stability necessary for operative handling.
The extensive Cerasorb® product line offers the right implant for every indication
Cerasorb® is available in the form of cubes, cuboids, wedges and cylinders or as granules in various grain sizes.
The block forms can easily be processed with conventional surgical instruments and are therefore adaptable to the specific defect situation.
Particular advantages:
- Biofunctional bone growth owing to a regularly aligned macro pore system
- Good mechanical stability despite a total porosity of 65 %
- Precise and problem-free implantation / easy handling
Areas of indication
- Filling, bridging and/or reconstruction of resected, non-infected bone defects
- Plastic reconstruction of damaged or resected bone regions
- Filling of intervertebral implants
