Open pore structure
Cerasorb® M Ortho is designed with micropores, mesopores and macropores. The porosity is completely open and 100% interconnecting. Micropores provide increased cell supply and nutrition over a large surface area. Mesopores are for vascularisation and angiogenesis, as well as bonding to the very first woven bone bundles. The further development bone growth is supported by the macropores. The principle is: no dead ends without interconnection because this could lead to non supplied bone and germs inside such dead ends producing endotoxines not treatable with antibiotics.
