Example cases

Tibial tumor

An eleven year old boy presented with pain in the right lower leg without remembrance of injuries. The x-ray showed an osteolytic lesion of the distal tibia situated dia-metaphysially, excentrically, laterally with a thinned lateral cortical bone but without signs of malignancy. A biopsy confirmed a nonossified fibroma. The lesion was cleared and rinsed with 5%-phenol. The defect was then filled with Cerasorb® granules mixed with PRP (platelet rich plasma). 6 months post surgery the leg could be partially loaded; physical strain on the leg was limited for 6 months (no school sports).
